Industry application certification processes often times involve specific criteria that are database related with regards to the handling of sensitive data. There are many such certifications and standards examples including the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), and ARRA HER. Many times the criteria for these standards involve evaluating the application’s encryption capabilities for handling both stored and communicated data. Advantage enabled applications can meet these criteria.
Advantage offers two different encryption options. The default encryption available in Advantage is based on the RC4 algorithm. Advantage also offers a second strong encryption option starting with version 10.1 that supports AES encryption and TLS communications which is approved for usage by most certifications.
